The"Emerging Church Movement" endeavors to attract unbelievers to Christianity by providing them opportunity to "experience" the presence of God. Many pastors and church leaders are weaving together elements from different religious traditions, especially Catholicism and Eastern Orthodoxy. Emergent church proponents say that in order to go ahead, we must go back in time and reintroduce mystical techniques that include the introduction of candles, incense, icons, statues, prayer stations, labyrinths and the sacraments.

While "the emerging church movement" (ECM) believes such fusion to be the key to revival, others are concerned and claim that it may be part of the last days apostasy described in the Bible.
